Garage door installation

The front garage door has been installed and it goes with the rest of the house great.

The site supervisor called to say that the waterproofing and everything has been completed and the fit-out will begin on the 10th of January 2017. Hopefully we will be in by the end of February 2017.

Site visit today

We had a site visit today and everything is good except for a couple of things.

They plastered over one of the shower recesses and the kitchen switches haven't been lowered.

Everything else looks great, the cornice and garage doors will go up next week and the first stage of waterproofing should happen before Christmas also.

The fix-out is scheduled for just after Christmas and the SS believes we are still good for the February contact date.

Plasterboard installation.

We visited the site on the weekend and the plasterboard installation was complete, the walls are up and the joins were sealed. However the cornice still needs to go up.

We have a meeting onsite tomorrow to go for a walk through and check everything out, hopefully the issues found in the electrical walk through have been fixed. Will find out the next steps and when things are booked in.

It is starting to look more like a house on the inside and we are getting excited, handover in February could actually happen.

Electrical rough in appointment.

Today was our electrical rough in appointment, and we got a new site supervisor so we met him also.

The appointment went well, we only had a couple of issues-

• Wall bracing missing in Study/Garage wall.
• Missing Cat6 data point in kitchen.
• Light and Oven isolation switch needs lowering.
• Outdoor power point at 600mm high instead of 2600mm high.
• Gas point missing in the alfresco area.

The new site supervisor seems real good and believes we should be in for the start of February :)

The next step is the plumbing installation (already meant to be done but hasn't been) then the wall insulation gets installed. these are booked in for the 29th and 30th of November.

We are at lock-up...

The front and back doors have been installed and the Soffit has been installed, garage doors are coming early December. The wooden posts at the front of the house has also been installed. Electrical rough in has started and should be complete this week.

Roof and Guttering Complete

The root and guttering has been completed. now they start the insides :)

Bricks Have Finished

 The bricks are finally finished, the gutters should go up this week and the roof on next. its starting to look like a house :)

Bricks Delivered

We have bricks onsite, they were delivered last week and we have brick layers scheduled to start 28th of September 2016, lets hope the weather is good and we don't have any delays.

The bricks are from Austral Bricks and are the Urban One Chiffon.

Frame Construction Complete

Roof frame has completed, windows were  meant to be in on Friday, hopefully they go in today.

Frame Halfway Constructed

Frame construction is at the halfway point, we went out last night and we have walls up. The roof frame and windows are meant to happen today.

Frame Construction Started

Frame construction has started, we visited the site on Tuesday night and the slab was all marked up for the frame installation. Went out on Wednesday night and the frame was spread out over the block ready to be erected.

We have a slab.....

We now have a slab, on Monday the Piering and Formwork was done. Tuesday had the waffle pods and Steel Mesh Reinforcing was installed and Wednesday morning the slab was poured.

Now to pay the first progress payment :(

Land Cut Complete

The land has been cut and now ready for the retaining wall to be complete.

Hopefully the weather will dry up and we can get it done over the weekend and hand the site back so they can start the slab.

Also we have 70 tonnes of dirt to remove, wasn't expecting that at all.

Start Date

We have received a phone call telling us our start date of 21st July 2016, the surveyors will start on this day and the cut of the land should be finished by the 27th July.

Its finally starting to move ahead.

Construction List

We are finally on the construction list, after 2 weeks of issues with the bank they finally sent the correct ACC letter to McDonald Jones today, 1 hour later we were on the construction list.

Hopefully it all goes smooth from here on out. Can't wait for the build to start.

We have our contracts

We have received our construction contracts in preparation for our contract signing appointment next Wednesday. Things are starting to move forward, with any luck we will be in before Christmas 2016.
